BeeFactory

Bee breeding and mass production with ComputerCraft 1.5 and OpenPeripherals 0.3.2

Goals:

  • multiple apiaries with individual targets
  • multiple inventories with individual analyzers
  • stay mostly stateless for fast recovery after server reboot / chunk reload / glitches
  • or read/write state for fast recovery

One BeeFactory handles:

  • registering of apiaries and reusing of shared inventories and analyzers
  • unlimited TargetControllers with individual targets per shared inventory and analyzer

One TargetController handles:

  • one exclusive apiary
  • one (shared) inventory
  • one (shared) analyzer
  • breeding of required and intermediate species up to desired target
  • reuses breeding chains for faster reproduction of desired target

Setup:

  • Place analyzer
  • Place chest next to it
  • Place apiary next to chest
  • Press F3 and enter correct sides in config
  • Connect everything with Modems (cc) and Networking cable, preferably from the bottom
  • Right click each modem and enter names into config

Advanced Setup:

  • repeat steps, setup as many as you want :) and don't forget to send pics
  • chests and analyzers can be shared just enter the same name and the correct relative sides
  • each entry in config is enclosed in { } brackets. just copy these lines to configure more TargetControllers
  • a name has to be specified when multiple Controllers are breeding the same target

Troubleshooting:

  • tripe check the facing sides, try opposites (sometimes it's confusing)
  • found bugs? report so it gets fixed ;)

Trivia:

  • heavy OOP usage
  • SpeciesTree from apiary by getBeeBreedingData()
  • inspired by Direwolf20 and Forte40
